Typically, creating a strategy is an iterative process. First, you generate your baseline comparison results from the manual stow plan. From the vessel profile view for the manually stowed vessel, you can print the stow plan, print results from the Special Evaluate Planned Stow option (shown in the Notices window, Rehandle list, Error lists, and the RTG Schedule), and print the results of the Vessel
Check Stowage command.
With the baseline results in hand, plan and replan the stowage with AutoStow (on page 1), continually refining the AutoStow strategy settings (on page 1) until you reach your goal. Each time you stow the vessel using AutoStow, compare it to your required stowage, then revise the strategy, revert the AutoStowed containers, and refine the vessel plan again with the latest strategy. After you complete your first strategy, you can use it as a basis for successive strategies.
Strategies based on another strategy do not remain actively linked, so you must update and revise each strategy.
This example shows one complete cycle in creating an AutoStow strategy in the test environment.
To configure and assign an AutoStow strategy:
With XPS running, select Vessel AutoStow
AutoStow Strategies.
In the AutoStow Strategy window, from the Actions list, select one of the following:

New Strategy with: Lets you select an existing strategy on which to base the new strategy, opens the Create AutoStow Strategy dialog box, and then renames the current instance of the AutoStow Strategy window according to the new strategy (the name displays in the window title bar).

Delete Strategy: Deletes the strategy currently displayed when you confirm.
Rename Strategy: Opens the Create AutoStow Strategy dialog box, where you rename the strategy, and renames the current instance of the AutoStow Strategy window accordingly.

For more information about selecting strategy values, see Understand AutoStow strategies (on page 1). For more information on the individual parameters, see AutoStow Strategy Set (on page 1).
Use Tab or Enter to move down the list to the next setting value that you want to change.
From the Actions list, select Save to save your changes.
XPS saves the new strategy name and makes it available in the Action New Strategy with option and the Special
Set AutoStow Strategy option in the vessel profile view.
Open your test vessel (Vessel Open).
In the vessel profile view, from the Special list, select Set AutoStow Strategy, and then select the required strategy.
XPS displays a check mark in front of the selected strategy.
Continue with planning a vessel with AutoStow (on page 1).
